We have a bee that enjoys hovering over our deck for some reason. This one shows some of his face.

That bee is a carpenter bee. They like to bore into wood and make their nest inside the holes. The yellow on the face of the bee is a characteristic of the carpenter bee. It has no stinger but it will bite.
