More Andy

Now that we are celebrating Mayberry Days in this area (Mount Airy) I have to have a little trivia quiz about Andy.
1. Who is the young lady singing to the man holding the pie?
2. What is the name of the song she is singing?
3. What more popular song is sung to this same tune?
4. How many pies is this man holding?
5. In the background of the top pic there is some scenery that is about to be the subject of discussion between the man and the city officials. What is this all about?
6. Where did Barney get the uniform he is wearing in the bottom pic?
7. How did Andy refer to Barney when he first saw him wearing it?
8. What does Barney ask Andy here toward the end of the show?
9. Why has the man in the top pic come to Mayberry?
10. How did the town react to this man's coming?

Esteem Builder

You can access this Esteem Builder from your iPhone, and David quickly found it while his pastor was mentioning it to us during the sermon. As you can see the message is saying, "You're great!" But of course, most of us already believe that.

A Few Pics from Raleigh

Here are a few pics of Dawson and Kenan I took in Raleigh yesterday. They had fun playing a form of tetherball. This is a game I played in my youth as well.

The Flight Home

Here are a few shots on the San Francisco to Cincinnati leg of the trip. Sorry, but there is a bit of haze preventing a better quality pic. I would say this concludes my posts on the San Francisco trip.

The Cappu Machine

Here it is. The cappuccino machine. The process is actually quite messy and you really have to enjoy the chore of making this beverage as well as consuming it. David does.

One of David's Bikes

Here is a pic of one of David's bikes. I had the privilege of riding to work with him on his first full day as an employee of Kiva. Everything went smoothly until we reached the block that the Kiva office was on, and he pulled to the center line to make a left and I followed and just as I did, the lock fell off the bike. (I was riding the Breezer; he was riding this one.) For some reason it seemed to have slipped out of the holder. Anyway, I turned around and rode back to pick it up, and a lady drove by and yelled out the window, "You can't do that!!" I was fortunate not to be hit by a car. So then I said goodbye to David and headed back to the house. David's cousins will appreciate the name of this bike.

Riley Marie

This is Riley Marie Honeycutt. One cute little girl. Just born September 1. That's labor day. (Her mother labored on labor day while the rest of us rested from our labors.) Proud parents are Chris and Liz Honeycutt and they live in Greensboro.

Andy Tutors Opie

Here is a classic excerpt of Andy tutoring Opie in long-division. This is just a step ahead of Ma and Pa Kettle teaching Kentucky math, another classic. If anyone would like, they can comment on the general plot of this episode.

Transamerica Building

How many pictures can you take of the Transamerica Building? Which one(s) do you like best? The last time we were here, I seemed to like the Coit Tower, now its the Transamerica Building. The green build in front and to the right is made of copper.
