One more shot relating to fireworks
Zachary had a little trouble getting and staying asleep on July 4th evening. There were some fireworks after his bedtime and then a little thunder and lightning--God provided a bit of his own fireworks to finish off the evening. Zachary came down from the bedroom and got cozy with his mom and told her, "I like fireworks gently." Here he is getting up to see if he can catch a glimpse of some lightning as best as I can remember. And that is Patrick, his dad in the background.

Zachary
This little fella is named Zachary. He is the son of my niece, Jennifer and her husband Patrick. They are serving as missionaries half a world away. I have to say that I can't really describe the feeling I get when I Skype him in South Korea, and he just hears my voice, and says, "Uncle John!!" Of course it is hard to hold his attention for any amount of time, but he seems so happy to talk when we first get connected. I am really looking forward to seeing them this summer.Labels: Zachary

Here are a few shots I took when Zachary came back by (along with his parents) on Thursday on their way back to Raleigh. His first word out of the car was "Tennis." (He wanted to play Wii Tennis.) You may be able to tell that he also enjoyed dropping from the slide right on his bottom, as well as driving a child's car. (Please note that you can now click on "My Flickr" on the right side and get to my personal Flickr photos.)

Here Zachary is getting ready to mow before heading to West Virginia. I thought it was a nice gesture since we let him spend the night.Labels: Zachary

In these two shots, Zachary is thinking that he is playing Wii Sports. His parents taught me the idea of giving him a dummy remote, so that he wouldn't feel left out.Labels: Zachary
Zachary

Here is a very cute little boy--not that I am at all prejudiced or anything. He just happens to be the son of my niece and her husband (who lives in Raleigh at least for now.) But whenever I would squat down to take his pic he would squat too, so this is what I got. I would have loved to have captured him batting a ball, but I was pitching to him (and being the pitcher and getting the picture would be a bit complicated.) Maybe next time...Labels: Zachary
