Another Sign of Spring

Here is another sign of spring. This mockingbird was just singing his heart out on the corner of the building where I work. Of course, I didn't get his best tunes, but at least you will get the general idea of what he was trying to get across.

Spring

Yes, its springtime again. Any look at those pansies!! I'm talking about the flowers. These are the ones right outside my company's door. They do look great if I do say so myself.

Whole Foods

One thing that is nice about eating lunch at Whole Foods is that you get to sample several different foods. Sometimes they have fresh fruit; sometimes they cook different foods and offer samples. Lately, they have been sampling different kinds of cheese. Most of these kinds of cheeses I would never think to buy, but I am getting an introduction in the subject of cheeze-tasting. The one mentioned in the scanned pic was quite tasty, but the Kildare Cheddar from Cork, Ireland which I tasted today was so creamy and rich. I also tried the Cave aged Gruyere and the Comte' 15 Monte (hand selected.) I would love to try the King's Island Roaring 40s Blue, but that hasn't been offered yet.

Easter Morning

I took a few shots Easter morning. (All of the above except for the daffodils; I took them earlier.) Our neighborhood is blossoming very nicely, as you can see. In a few more days, I should be able to get some more shots of signs of spring. The Lord is risen; the Lord is risen indeed!

Another blog

I know its pretty bad when one starts to blog about someone else's blog, especially those of strangers. But I thought this was crazy enough to mention, just so that others can be aware of some idiotic things things that some people do. You can check out this blog.
This guy is actually on the edge of Victoria Falls, which is between Zambia and Zimbabwe in Africa, and the falls drop 100 meters below. If you check out the pics on the linked Flickr site you can see that in some of them the person hanging is being held by the ankles, but still, WHAT WERE THEY THINKING? Were they even thinking at all? I think not. I know I have heard it said, "If you're not living on the edge, you're taking up too much room." But that is supposed to be a joke.

Cotton

Here is how they pack the cotton in Mali, West Africa. My sister-in-law went over there in December to visit her daughter and her family. I suppose she was interested in this particularly because she worked for Cotton Inc. at one time, and of course I am interested because I have worked in textiles most of my adult life.

Secondhand Lions--Again

Here is a clip from the movie, Secondhand Lions, which just happened to be on CBS this weekend. You might say that I saw Secondhand Lions for the second time. In this scene, Herb (played by Robert Duvall) teaches these young men (punks) just a little about how one should live life. He doesn't turn the other cheek, but he doesn't kill them either. I kinda like his words as he is holding one of them by the neck, and looking directly eye to eye with him.
