National Anthem

Well, I made the cut and was permitted to sing at another Winston-Salem Warthogs game! And to my surprise, they gave me one of the first pitch ceremony balls, shown in the pic. My goal was to improve on the quality of singing that I did two years ago, and I believe that I was able to do that, if I do say so myself. I told one lady who complemented me that I mainly wanted everyone to hear the words. So many times you can't understand what the singer is trying to get across these days. She told me that the words came through well. For that I am pleased. And I didn't forget the words. That too.

Aaron Shust Concert

Our niece, Jennifer sang with Aaron Shust in college and her husband, Patrick roomed with him at that same college, Toccoa Falls College. She really hated not being here in Winston-Salem so that she could come to the concert tonight. We were treated also to hear Meredith Andrews and Brandon Heath. Notice that Aaron is wearing a T-shirt that says, "I'm Not Who I Was." That is one of Brandon's songs. I did have to sacrifice in missing choir practice at my own church, but it was good to get out of my normal routine and have an evening of praise and worship.

This was a beautiful wedding and such a beautiful couple on a beautiful day. We were on the beach with comfortable temperatures and mild wind for a perfect day.

David and Teresa

We were able to visit with good friends who lived in Kernersville for a while and now live in Beaufort, NC. David is pastor of Calvary Baptist there. I can't think of a nicer guy in the world than David Bruce. It was really great to be able to catch up with them Saturday. Thanks again David for a great visit.

Skyping David

Here is one of the pics from our last Skype with David. We don't get to see him that often in person, but it is so nice to be able to Skype him from time to time and we can still see his face.

Rain!!

Saturday morning I checked my rain gauge and found that we had 2.3" of rain the day before, and then this morning we had another .5". We are supposed to have some dry weather this week, so this soaking rain that we have had will help bring back the water table closer to where it should be. Praise the Lord for His showers of blessing!
