Ash tray

Here is the latest thing in taking care of cigarette butts now. There are a couple of tiny holes where you are supposed to deposit your smoke when you have finished. (BTW, I don't smoke, but I really wonder what the advantage of this device is. The old buckets with sand in them just didn't look attractive I suppose.

ashes to ashes, butts to butts; they still smell bad; I don't mind the smell of tobacco burning; but that stale smell is putrid.

Wonder if the squirrels can get into it?

We have some like that in front of the library. The only thing I can say about them is that whenever someone throws paper in them, the cigarettes get lodged in the neck and catch fire. I've personally had to douse them three times, and seen it happen a couple of others.

Thanks Dan for that informative remark. I am sure that there was a good reason for designing it like this but there must be 25 reason why this is a poor ashtray.
